Xhosa traditional beaded Smoking Pipe Used

I picked this pipe up in the East London area a few years ago whilst out riding.    It has been in my little collection of interesting bits and pieces.  Blue and white glass beads are wound round the stem.  It doesn’t look like many I have seen which are more elaborate and have metal in the bowls making this one fairly unusual.  Might be a local adaptation.  It is in lovely used condition.  Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions.
