VINTAGE FLOW BLUE WILLOW PATTERN SUGAR BASIN MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN 1945
A generous sized sugar bowl and a lovely example of Willow Pattern porcelain. The fable is of a Chinese couple who eloped and were transformed into doves. This is one of the most identifiable designs on 18th and 19th century crockery. The design was printed on a transfer which was applied to an item before firing.
It’s in good used vintage condition. There is a light stain round the lip of the bowl (see picture). No Chips or cracks that I can see. Please look at the pictures carefully as they form part of my description.
