A 1940’s SILVER MALACHITE AND CORAL BROOCH AND PENDANT
I have had this lovely brooch/pendant for about 20 years and only recently googled it to find out more about its history and where the stone came from. I haven’t ever worn it so decided to put it up on my bid or buy page. There is a stamp (signature?) on the back near the clasp. The brooch is in used vintage condition. The green and coral compliment each other and form a really pleasing piece of jewelry with a deep history. Similar brooches have said they are silver, so I am concluding that this is silver as well. Please look at the pictures carefully and don’t hesitate to ask any questions. There are similar brooches on internet selling for R700.00 and a lot more
A bit of info from Wikipedia – “Eilat Stone derives its name from the city of Eilat where it was once mined, it is a green-blue heterogeneous mixture of several secondary copper minerals including malachite, azurite, turquoise, pseudomalachite, chrysocolla. The Eilat stone is the National stone of Israel, and is also known as the King Solomon Stone.”
