Old SA 1d and half d stamps on 1940's grocery receipts Ephemera Kitchenalia

Such interesting grocery lists dated in the 40’s with their receipt stamps.  Thats amazingly 80 years ago.   Fun reading that sugar was 1 shilling       1 doz eggs one shillig and 3 pence    –   3 small soap 1 shilling.  Seems one had to put stamps onto a receipt?
