MINIATURE BRASS AND WOOD BED WARMER WITH ROB ROY BADGE

This minature brass and wood bed warmer is only 23cm long.   I think it could have been made as a salesman sample and by the looks of it is quite old.

This is a delightful minature item.   There are dents and scrapes and the handle attached to the pan is very slightly wobbly.  the lid is also a little loose but shows that this is a genuine old piece.  It has been polished many times and still has the residues of polish in all the recessed areas.

Did you know that  before the 20th centuary hot coals were put into the pan and pushed between the sheets to warm the bed before getting into it.  I usually have my dogs on they bed, safer than hot coals!
