Crested Heraldic China - Cheese/butter dish Old Pietermaritzburg Provenance

I think this is quite a find!!   The Crest on this cheese/butter dish would have been made after Pietermaritzburg was founded in 1838.  It was told to me that it could have been used by Theophilus Shepstone in his official residence in Pietermaritzuburg as official crockery.  Possibly provided by the Province.   The dish is in amazingly good vintage /antique condition with no chips or cracks.  I think the current pietermaritzburg logo was registered in about 1973.
