Chinese Oriental Fu Dog Soapstone Carving

I know very little about Oriental items. This appears to be a mid 20th centuary soapstone carving.   It came from an estate.   Please look at the pictures carefully and dont hesitate to ask any questions.  It is in used vintage condition.   There is a mark on the stopper which could be natural or a chip.   See pictures below.
