Butterfly Wing Picture Oriental Scene 1920’s

Butterfly jewelry and pictures were very popular during the 1920’s.   The design was painted on the reverse side of the glass with the wings underneath.  Please look at the pictures carefully as they form part of the description.   The top of the frame is quite corroded but I think it could be polished or buffed.  A small chip of wood off the stand.

Measuring 10 cm x 13.5 cms this is such a lovely example of British Butterfly Wing art.   This picture is in well used Antique condition.   The frame is tarnished on the top side but I think that it could be polished up.   The other 3 sides are tarnished but acceptable.   The wooden stand that holds the picture is in sturdy condition.  Although flaking a bit it has the original” Genuine Butterfly Wings” transfer on the back of the picture.   The painting is on the reverse of the glass and the unpainted areas show the butterfly wings.
