Item Description

HEAVY SHEFFIELD SILVER SALVER ON COPPER  2KG+

This heavy tray/salver made by the old and respectable company of John Turton & Co probably in about 1910 according to my research, is perfect as it is or it could be resilvered.  Personally I love the copper showing through.  Its an elegant reminder of more genteel times when craftsmanship was valued.

Taken from Google “TurtonJohn Turton, active 1876-1898 at 23-24 Times Building Bow St. Sheffield.
Became John Turton & Co and was converted into a limited liability company in 1910. Active at Kendal Works 57 Arundel St. Sheffield (1898-1916).”

As can be seen by the pictures, the tray has been lovingly polished over the last century exposing the solid copper underneath.  The tray is in good used antique condition.
